Channa Batura

My all time favorite recipe wen I was a kid my parents take me to hotels first thing my mind to think off me to have this Channa batura also called as chola poori. .
It has been quite long time that I had my favorite dish... suddenly craving for chola poori.. why not can do it at home.  On Saturday night soaked channa. . On Sunday evening my all time favorite Channa batura ready.
Here's my recipe for channa batura.
Ingredients for channa masala
Soaked channa 500g

















Oil 1 to 2 tabs
Jeera 1 tbs
Chopped onion 1 cup
Ginger garlic paste 1 1/2 tbs
Slit green Chilli 2
Finely chopped tomato / puree 3 to 4 medium size.
Turmeric powder 1/4
Cumin powder 1 tbs
Red Chilli powder 2 tbs.
Finely chopped coriander leaves
Channa masala 2 tbs ( I used store bought one if u have ur own masala u can use that)
Finely chopped onion for garnish
Lemon wedges.

Ingredients for batura.
Maida 500g
Suji / rava 50
Salt to taste
Sugar 1 teaspoon
Curd 2 tbs
Water for kneading.


For Batura:
Add maida suji salt sugar mix well add curd give a nice gentle knead add water as needed and gently make a dough and keep aside for 1/2 hour.  Mean time u make chana Masala. .

Method: for channa masala

In a pan add oil add cumin seeds once sputter add chopped onions saute well until golden color add ginger garlic paste mic well until raw smells off now add finely chopped tomato or puree mix well to combine everything.  Now add all above spices given in the list.  Add water to cook
( you can use the channa boiled water also here) close the lid chk the seasoning add according to it. Once Masala cooked ready add boiled channa and mix well with Masala
Should be well coater with Masala add finely chopped coriander leaves add again finely chopped onion for crunchy feeling it should be not too thick / too watery in consistency.  Make according to it.  Transfer to the serving bowl .. garnish with finely chopped onion and coriander leaves with lemon wedges.
